When Friday Gives You Lemons Make Lemonades With It. Love Friday Anyway!

Friday is phenomenal; for reasons good and not-so-good. When it holds the power that no other day of the week has – “power to put an end to weekdays”, it also holds the power to induce fear – “the fear of depressing things that may creep into weekend zone”! Just as I read and liked one of the Aunty Acid posters yesterday, “My Friday was going pretty well, until I realized it is Thursday” and believe it or not, it happens to me all the time. With such a revelation, the thought of getting started on actual Friday itself is a huge let down and the feeling just aggravates when you see yourself “overloaded”.

So we, the working lot (including homemakers), persuaded with this fear that Friday brings with it tend to be on tenterhooks and torture ourselves to an impossible extend so as to not let anything spoil the weekend we look forward to. Yes, I and my team at work did exactly that yesterday – when Friday gave us lemons, we made lemonades out of it and that’s what teamwork is all about! :P Otherwise, at least some of us would have been working today (that includes me). Well, I just remembered I forgot to thank and appreciate my team yesterday for a super awesome job they did, so I took a break from blogging now and did that (first things first)!

That's My Team & We Rock!

However the best part of Friday is that, it doesn't matter how you begin or spend your day, because by the end of it you will still feel relaxed and thank God it’s Friday, provided you have taken care of that “fear”.

Whatever said and done, I love Fridays. Yes, whether or not it falls on 13th, I love Fridays unconditionally. I can’t even begin to imagine how can someone call or tag it inauspicious; if there is a day in the week that is auspicious it has to be Friday, beat that! Things, good or bad, happen when it is supposed to happen and anything that is supposed to happen never waits for Friday and the 13th combination. As I said, this is one day that is phenomenal – to me it is a charmer, the bringer of all things good, the prelude to the awesome two days, the day I begin to hibernate and enjoy being nothing but a couch potato.

So why do I love Friday so much?

It’s the day when things get casual and routines loosen up – Yup, the casual Friday concept works well at home and office too. Everyone puts up that bright face and is relaxed because “today” marks the end of toil and beginning of freedom! No work overload or deadlines can cancel Friday Happy Hours - so we still had ours yesterday at work!

It’s the day where the second half is dedicated to “me” – Read Friday once again and the latter part of it says “i-day”! Got you! :P It’s the day I extend my afternoon siesta, the day I shut down anything that demands my attention post 4 PM. It’s the day I even let go of my fitness regime and dedicate to things that I enjoy. I stock up the nibbles, switch on my TV and take as much as of it I can handle. It’s the day that begins “eat out and keep your kitchen clean” routine.

It’s the day unlike any other day of the week - It’s the only weekday I can afford to sleep late and still wake up late the next day. Yeah and that’s the best part!

Finally, it’s the day I've been waiting for since last Friday – Friday is more like a gateway to all things wonderful. It’s the day that sets the tone to the rest of the weekend. It’s the day that frees my soul and leads it to weekend stroll.

Oh, that feeling, only a Friday can give! So do you love Friday and why?
